Composer's Notes:
The church building is, itself, a character on the album. This first track, 900 Years, is set in current times, I was struggling to settle on the church's 'voice'. Then it dawned on me, of course, that the voice should be the people! After the morning service on 20th October 2019, I recorded individual volunteers, and the congregation as a whole that day, and built this track around their voice recordings.

Lyrics:
I am St. Michael’s Church, Newhaven’s oldest building.
I have been here for 900 years.
Imagine what I’ve seen over those nine centuries, the stories I could tell.
Let me take you on a journey through time.

The Spitfire Sisters - clever, catchy, retro-tunes with modern day lyrics - perfectly performed by 3 very classy ladies and their accompanying band of expert players. They're fab live too. Go see!. Mike Flood
